Popular Locally Grown Timber For Flooring and Decking

Originally from Australia, but now well established in New Zealand’s North Island. The colour ranges from light to dark pink. The grain is usually interlocked, occasionally straight. The texture is coarse. To facilitate drying the timber is always quarter sawn.

Saligna is a very popular timber for all ranges of exterior and interior joinery. It is also a prevalent timber for T&G Flooring and decking outside. It nails and screws fairly well. Stains and polishes reasonably well.

JSC regularly recommends and sources Saligna for unique architectural projects. We have extensive experience working alongside your experts to help you design facades and structures that will last for generations.
