Feature Grade Thermally Modified Timber

The JSC TMT® Taiga range is a selection of unique feature grade thermally modified timber options that have beautiful natural rustic characteristics. Due to the thermal modification process that the timbers undergo, they come in a variety of rich brown tones and are suitable for a variety of interior and exterior applications such as exterior claddings, interior linings, battens and more depending on the product type you choose. 

The JSC TMT® Taiga range takes oil and water-based coatings well and is able to accept darker coatings with a significant reduction in dimensional movement. Like any natural timber, this range of products will eventually weather to shades of grey when subjected to the environmental elements of temperature, moisture, and UV rays. Therefore, to help maintain your fresh, new colour, the use of a premium grade oil stain with a UV protectant is recommended, with a factory applied envelope coat as the first step to a long and beautiful life.


The JSC TMT® Taiga Range
 TMT Lunawood - A beautiful warm, brown-toned timber product offering ranges from smaller, more scattered knots to more oval-shaped knots. This gives the cladding and interiors a completely unique personality. It is sourced from Lunawood in Finland and profiled locally by JSC Timber into New Zealand approved profiles.   

Uses of the TMT Taiga Range
External Cladding
JSC TMT Taiga cladding is available in a range of JSC TMT® weatherboard and moulding profiles. Supplied in good average length spreads which allow for greater design possibilities and is the perfect material choice for your vertical and horizontal cladding. According to the chosen weatherboard profile, installation of the TMT® Taiga weatherboard range is to be done as per our cladding system guidelines for:

•          VertiClad - Vertical Shiplap Cladding System
•          RustiClad - Horizontal Rusticated Cladding System
•          BevelClad - Bevel Back Cladding System
•          Board & Batten - Vertical Board and Batten Cladding System

For the fixing of TMT® Taiga weatherboards, only Stainless Steel fastenings must be used. For compliance documentation, please contact us. 

Interior Wall Linings and Battens 
The TMT Taiga range works gracefully in interiors with its natural yet vivid textures.  It is highly suitable for interior wall linings and battens and in addition to its attractive and interesting appearance, the thermal modification of wood eliminates the risk of harmful emissions. This makes TMT Taiga an ideal material for interiors.
