JSC Scumble® Exterior Wood Oil

Exterior timber cladding has been a well-established feature of building in New Zealand for many centuries. Traditionally, timber cladding has been left unpainted and allowed to weather naturally. Today, timber cladding is becoming increasingly fashionable in modern buildings, however, modern designs demand low maintenance and enhanced performance combined with a more pleasing colour palette.

Based on market demand and the need to fulfil these requirements, JSC has worked on specifically developing a product to cater to the New Zealand market that is suitable for our unique and varied climatic conditions.

What is JSC Scumble®
JSC Scumble® is an advanced water-based product containing natural plant-based oil ingredients.

The ingredients include UV inhibitors and high-quality pigments to ensure longer lasting coatings and longer than average intervals between maintenance coats.

Why Choose JSC Scumble®
JSC Scumble® protects the timber from the weather and offers other key benefits:

JSC Scumble® Colour Palette
JSC Scumble® is offered in ten different colours as well as a clear coating option. The colour range has been chosen with the New Zealand landscape and building styles in mind. The colours you choose for your project can influence the whole look and feel of the home. Scumble colours range from lighter shades such as Frost and Ash, ideal for bright and coastal type homes, to darker options such as Steel or Nightfall, which create a bold statement and work extremely well for a sophisticated look.

When choosing dark colours, careful consideration must be given to the site location, board profile, and size for the best results.

Coverage:
Drying times and coverage rates may vary due to a variety of factors such as seasonal temperature, the timber porosity, moisture content (below 18% required), the timber type, and previous coats applied.
Application rate recommendation:
Avoid applying excess product to the surface as it will not dry. To deliver the optimum quantity, we recommend a trial application on offcuts before undertaking the actual coating.
