Finishes: CedarShield - Factory Applied Weatherboard Coating System
JSC specifically developed the CedarShield system to responsibly manage and increase the
performance of Western Red Cedar against the harsh New Zealand environment.
The CedarShield System offers factory applied coating within a controlled environment delivering a full
envelope seal to Weatherboards, Fascia, Panelling and Dressed profiles prior to delivery.
CedarShield ensures a consistent application for improved appearance and increased finish life and
durability without unsightly lap marks or acclimatization lines.
Coating options include both oil and water based coating systems with many new and innovative
colours available.
Fixing Vertical Shiplap Weatherboards
Adjust horizontal set-out to ensure there is a 2 mm expansion gap between successive boards.
Using full length boards only, clench nail tongue to every fixing point (nogs – dwangs at 400 - 480
mm centres). Nail other side of board just clear of lap 30mm – 35mm from edge. Nails to be driven
in with an upward slope. Line nails horizontally across the boards.
As per JSC fixing details.
